Meta has announced many features aimed at WhatsApp. At the same time, the tech giant continues to develop its instant messaging app.
One of them directly concerns statuses, which will be enriched with a new feature: reactions. And Meta is inspired this time by one of its applications, Instagram.
Reactions for the statutes
The novelties are linked on WhatsApp. Recently, the instant messaging application has been full of new features such as communities, improved voice calls or the ability to send files that can now be up to 2 GB. However, not all are fundamentally useful. Proof of this is with the latest discovery of WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp will indeed host “Quick Reactions” in the near future. More concretely, they will allow users to send their feelings when they watch a status update with an emoji. The reaction is then sent directly to the chat. In other words, it’s exactly the same functionality as Instagram Stories.
For the moment, only eight emojis are planned, including the smiley with hearts instead of eyes, the one who cries with laughter or the 100 points. The entire main spectrum of emotions is represented.
“Quick Reactions” is currently in development on the PC version, but it’s a safe bet that it will also arrive on iOS and Android.
