They therefore import their muscular methods into the local economic fabric: intimidation, racketeering, kidnapping. A security manager was incarcerated a few months ago in Grenoble. He is suspected of having embezzled nearly a million euros in a few months. He fictitiously employed two traffickers while paying them very real salaries with drug money.
Another recent investigation by financial investigators: Serbs, linked to organized crime, laundered 1.6 million euros by purchasing buildings on the Côte-d’Azur. According to information from Europe 1, they corrupted a police officer stationed in Monaco and a lawyer employed at Cannes town hall.
