As part of the Citi 2023 Global Technology Conference, Intel provided news about Windows 12.

For a long time, Intel has been a partner of choice for Microsoft, and the firm notably supported the launch of Windows 11 with its range of Alder Lake processors. Friday October 6, the brand’s CFO, Dave Zinsner, indulged in some confidences concerning the year to come, and in particular a certain Windows 12.

Intel ready for 2024… and Windows 12

On October 5, 2021, Microsoft officially launched its brand new OS, a certain Windows 11, whose market share fell slightly in September, according to Steam. At the time, Intel supported this same Windows 11 by launching its 12e generation of Alder Lake processors. In 2024, this same Intel will launch Meteor Lake (the 15e generation of in-house processors) and intends to see its sales boosted by Windows 12.

We actually believe that 2024 will be a good year for customers, especially, due to Windows Update. We still think the installed base is quite old and in need of a refresh, and we think next year could be the start of that refresh, given the Windows catalyst “, declared Dave Zinsner.

At present, Windows has not formalized any indication regarding its future Windows, but according to information gleaned by Windows Centralthe American giant would have accelerated the development of Windows 12 (which could be offered with a subscription), with an OS which could be launched in mid-2024.
