When Mom, I Missed the Plane meets The Kings of Skating: what is A Stunning Christmas, a crazy comedy with Eric Judor?

Released this December 8 on Prime Video, A Amazing Christmas offers a crazy journey into the world of absurd comedy. A brilliant parody of American Christmas films brilliantly directed by Arthur Sanigou, and carried by a star-studded cast. Focus.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT ?

On Christmas Eve, Greg, a solitary and taciturn police officer, does not hesitate to abandon his daughter to go on a mission. To teach her a lesson, Santa Claus decides to grant his daughter’s wish: that her father looks like Richard Silestone, the good, slightly stupid and heavily indebted father of the family from the Christmas movie she loves.

While Greg is sent to this improbable world, Richard accidentally lands in the real world. Waking up, the two men understand that they have no choice but to succeed in each other’s mission to regain their respective lives: dismantling a dangerous drug ring for Richard, and saving the family home for Greg by winning the local figure skating competition.

AN STUNNING, ABSURD AND OFFSET CHRISTMAS!

That’s it, the Christmas movie season is here! And if TV films of the genre delight fans, certain creations stand out by offering to celebrate the holidays in a completely different way. This is indeed the case with An Amazing Christmas, a completely crazy comedy that will delight fans of humor like Will Speck and Josh Gordon, Adam McKay or Shawn Levy.

After having cut his teeth as an author and director for Catherine et Liliane or La Vengeance au triple gallop, and as a screenwriter for LOL: Who laughs, comes out! (among others), Arthur Sanigou signs here his very first feature film in which we find his keen sense of absurd humor, and the references which rocked him.

Prime Video

Summoning classics of Christmas cinema like Mom I Missed the Plane or The Grinch, The Amazing Christmas succeeds in wonderfully twisting these symbols by infusing them with a very offbeat tone which is all too rare in the French landscape. Both parodic and sincere, and therefore furiously effective, the film combines burlesque gags, pastiche of telenovelas, action sequences and lines destined to become cult.

All carried by a cast that works wonders, like Eric Judor, more comfortable and hilarious than ever in the costume of the famous Richard Silestone. He plays opposite Matthias Quiviger (aka Ragnar Le Breton) who emphasizes that he is an actor on whom we must now count, but also the comedians/actresses Lison Daniel and Laura Felpin, Catherine Hosmalin (Dikkenek), Bruno Sanches ( the famous Liliane de Catherine), Kim Higelin (Le Consentement), François Vincentelli (Sam), Monsieur Poulpe, or even the brilliant Alex Lutz. In short, 1h40 of pure and unapologetic madness that feels so good, to discover without further delay on Prime Video.
