NASA has a sense of humor, there’s no doubt about it. This agency, as official as it may be, shows that it is not impervious to the success of the latest addition to the Bethesda studio.

Whether it is appreciated or not, Starfield is a success for the Bethesda studio. With the milestone of 6 million players passed on September 7, the game is enjoying rather admirable success. As surprising as it may seem, NASA responded to this success with a viral post on Instagram that exceeded 4 million views.

A humorous promotion aimed at fans of Starfield

The post in question is a Reel (see capture below) on which we can admire a photo montage with a deliberately outdated appearance of a cat against a galaxy background. The surtitle states: “ We’re watching you play Starfield instead of applying for an internship at NASA. (We also have ships, crews, exoplanets and missions.) »

While some players found the post in poor taste, most took it with humor. The latter was then shared on the subreddit Starfield, and the reactions were quite numerous. A player responds: “ The planets are even drier for real, no thanks, NASA! » It is little wonder that the space agency, and in particular its recruitment team, is trying to capitalize on the success of Starfield to communicate.
