The second version of the meme represents the current situation, where the Internet user is no longer charmed by the multiple VOD services and is once again looking towards piracy. Elon Musk’s meme features Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max and Paramount+, the last two services not yet available in France, but can easily be replaced by OCS and Canal+.

Elon Musk paired this meme with a comment stating that entertainment “becomes a nightmare of usernames, passwords and two-factor authentication“. It thus illustrates the daily life of many users who have to juggle between access codes to connect to each service… even if in practice, our passwords are generally saved in our browsers or password managers.

Through this tweet, Elon Musk therefore asks the question of simplicity. From an offer initially acclaimed for its great ease of use (that of Netflix), compared to the complexity and illegality of torrent downloading, a few years ago, we moved to multiple subscriptions. However, this splitting can become, in the long run, a little painful for the Internet user. The latter may have the feeling of having to constantly juggle between sites to find what he is looking for.
