where can we hope to go?

For the February school holidays, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced that travel between regions would not be limited. So where can we really go? We take stock by giving you some ideas!

Restaurants and theaters will remain closed, ski slopes are also not expected to reopen, seasonal rentals are banned in some French cities, but despite everything, the French are allowed to move around during these winter holidays. While it was unlikely that Jean Castex would announce a re-containment on Thursday, February 4 during his 6 p.m. address, the Prime Minister also announced that " no distance restriction Would not be in place. However, he called for a "Increased vigilance"during the school holidays, which started this weekend for a third of France,"A context where there can be family reunions".

The French do not want to give up winter holidays and many of them want to go to enjoy the sea or the mountains! According to a study carried out last month by Amivac *, French competitor of Airbnb, 20% of them indeed intend to leave their main residence. If many of you prefer France, others are taking advantage of the current context to go a little further!

Try out new winter activities in France

All hope is not lost if you love skiing. Now is the perfect time to enjoy the mountains in the absence of tourists, as well as to try out new winter activities. The ski lifts remain closed, but why not try tobogganing, cross-country skiing or a dog sled ride? Even if the bars and restaurants remain closed, rest, the great outdoors, nature and tranquility await you … We give you some ideas of places (and accommodation) for a change of scenery and relaxing!

Stay in a century-old farmhouse and take a horseback ride in the beautiful Haute-Savoie department

Discover snowkiting and find comfort in a large chalet, direction Le Monêtier-les-Bains

Rediscover the pleasures of the snow and rest in a charming chalet in the Vosges

Take a deep breath of fresh air, try the dog sleds, and get warm in this accommodation located in the heart of the mountains in La Plagne

Discover the Haut-Jura with this magnificent house located in altitude

Go for a walk in Corsica, our sublime Isle of Beauty (on condition of carrying out a PCR test within 72 hours before departure)

Or leave the country and go skiing in Switzerland, but with more restrictions …

Unless you come from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region where it is mandatory to present a PCR test of less than 72 hours, Switzerland is open to French. Having said that, is that reasonable? We remember this Belgian skier, who, after returning from the Swiss slopes, led to the closure of two schools in Antwerp and the quarantine of 5,000 people after the Christmas holidays… So it is well worth considering all the options before deciding.

Otherwise, you can warm up under the sun of Malaga!

However, you will have to present a mandatory PCR test of less than 72 hours to return to Spain, but it is worth it! You can stay in this beautiful studio with terrace, a seven-minute walk from the Picasso Museum and the Cathedral of the Incarnation, in Malaga. Unlike France, museums are always open! But unfortunately, Spain is still a country heavily affected by the Coronavirus, and bars and restaurants close at 10 p.m.

Discover the gastronomic delights of Bologna as a couple

Pasta, pizza, cold cuts, brazadela, coffee … With the reopening of restaurants in Italy, (re) discover these typical Bologna delicacies! That said, Italy is subject to a national curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and restaurants and bars close at 6 p.m. … But it's still better than a curfew at 6 p.m. hours, right?

Enjoy and admire the beauty of the Swedish countryside

If you are over 18, take a PCR test less than 48 hours before departure, and discover Sweden with this beautiful country house. In Sweden, the sale of alcohol is banned after 8 p.m., and swimming pools, libraries, gymnasiums and museums are closed, but the beauty of Swedish nature won't disappoint!

Or, go even further and discover the most beautiful national parks in Croatia!

Show a PCR test less than 48 hours before arrival, and you are ready to explore Plitvice Lakes and settle into a beautiful home just five minutes away! In Croatia, as in France, catering establishments are closed, but cinemas, theaters and museums can accommodate 25 people and close at 10 p.m.
