With some exceptions, you can park in the same place as cars, even at night, provided you do not encroach on the ground markings.
Park but not camp
Please note, you have the right to park but not to camp, that is to say to place the chocks under the wheels of your vehicle, take out your outdoor furniture or hang up your laundry (to do this, you must stop at a dedicated area or at a campsite).
Study local regulations
Some municipalities prohibit the parking of motorhomes by municipal decree (signs remind you of this). Seized by motorhome associations, the courts have often ruled in favor of the cities concerned, especially when the prohibited zone constitutes only part of their territory or when it is located on the seafront (as in Pornic, at Sables-d'Olonne or Cancale).
