The very last scene, in particular, is already abundantly commented on on social networks such as community sites, including Reddit.

There will be many questions, and some may not be able to be answered immediately. However, it is already possible to answer one of them: where is Ahsoka Tano at the end of episode 4? The world between worlds

Episode 4 therefore concludes with Ahsoka Tano waking up in a very strange, ethereal and immaterial place. She gets up on a kind of bridge of light, as if she were somewhere in space. In the background, we guess other bridges, but also nebulae and stars. No one seems to live here. At least, that’s what you might think at first.

That’s when his master, Anakin Skywalker, appears. And it is on this image that the episode ends. We don’t know how she got there. Remember: Ahsoka Tano faced Baylan Skoll with a lightsaber. Things turned sour for the Jedi, however, as her opponent got the upper hand and knocked her off the top of the cliff.

The series does not show how, precisely, Ahsoka moved from the planet she was on just before to this new environment. On the other hand, it is possible to identify this zone: it is called the world between the worlds (world between worlds, in English). It is also sometimes called the Chain Worlds Theorem or Vergence Dispersion.

To put it quite simply, the world between worlds can be seen as the world of the Force. More accurately, it is a Force nexus that has the ability to connect various points across space and time—hence its name. It’s a place that fans who have seen Rebels already know, since it has already been staged in the animated series.

An official description presents this place as a ” mystical realm [qui] connects time and space, creating a conduit between the living and the dead. Those who control this plane master all of existence, but accessing it has proven to be an unexpected challenge. “. It is also there, obviously, that the dead can happen, given the character that we see at the very end.

This plane can be reached by passing through a mural representing the gods (the Father, the Son, the Daughter) of the “planet” Mortis (which itself is very strange). This painting is on the Jedi Temple on the planet Lothal, which is mentioned in the credits of the series Ahsoka and which also holds a major place in the final moments of Rebels.

This mystical plan should allow Ahsoka Tano to cross the void separating her galaxy from the one where Thrawn and Ezra Bridger are obviously located – remember: Ahsoka Tano is stuck on the planet where she faced Baylan Skoll, while the gang of villains, accompanied by Sabine, was able to perform her hyperspace jump in the other galaxy.

In short, the world between worlds allows you to move from one place to another, in a way identical to travel in hyperspace. It is an environment that Ezra Bridger already knows, but also Ahsoka Tano. Besides, Emperor Palpatine (Dark Sidious) too, because he was eager to be able to harness its power – in his quest for immortality, in particular.

It is also thanks to the world between worlds that Ahsoka Tano is alive. She could indeed have been killed at the end of season 2 of Rebels by Darth Vader, during their duel. But then Ezra, who was in that mysterious plane, saw a portal showing the fight between the Jedi and the Sith. He then grabbed her by the portal to pull her out.

Ahsoka being alive in the series that bears her name, and Ahsoka having already visited the world between worlds, it is clear that this place does not sign the end of the Jedi: we can enter this plane, but also come out of it. It is assumed that the plot will ensure that she can go to the other destination, in order to lend a hand to Sabine in the other galaxy.

Another big expectation: the explanations that there will be in episode 5 between Ahsoka and Anakin. The last time the two crossed paths, they were enemies and Ahsoka was unaware that Anakin had become Vader. Time passed, and the Jedi learned of her former master’s fall, and then her redemption. But the two were never able to reconcile. Maybe now is the right time?
