This year’s Nobel Peace Prize goes to the Belarusian human rights activist Ales Byalyatski, the Russian human rights organization Memorial and the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties. This was announced by the Nobel Prize Committee on Friday morning. In 2023, the robot forge Boston Dynamics could possibly win the prize.

The company, known for its robot dog Spot, has published an open letter to the industry along with some of its competitors. It warns of a possible misuse of the increasingly cheaper autonomous robots as a weapon.
The signatories undertake to prevent this to the best of their ability and to jointly look for technical possibilities to minimize the corresponding risks. From our point of view, this is a strong sign from the former Google subsidiary. “Don’t be evil!” is still capitalized.
And what about the blue circle?
A much less ethical question is currently driving many of you when you look at your WhatsApp chats. What the hell does the blue circle around Paul, Petra, or Klaus’ profile picture mean? The answer to this is pretty obvious and another indication of how much popular apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Co. are becoming more and more similar.

New products from Xiaomi, Google and Jackery
In addition to ethical food for thought and mysterious messenger circles, there was also a lot of new hardware to see just in time for the Christmas business this week. In addition to its 200-megapixel cell phone 12T Pro, Xiaomi unveiled a variety of other products in Munich.
