Which Apple TV+ movies in 2022? Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa in an action film, the new Scorsese…


The streaming platform launched in 2019 unveils the list of its upcoming films in 2022 and 2023 with, among others, the new feature film by Martin Scorsese, “Killers of the Flower Moon” with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Among the many streaming platforms on the market, that of Apple TV+ has established itself with ambitious series, such as Foundation and See, but also some comic successes, like Ted Lasso. Currently, it’s their film CODA that is grabbing all the attention. This American remake of The Aries Family is nominated three times for the Oscars.

The company revealed its new product line on Tuesday March 8 and took the opportunity to unveil its upcoming films in 2022 and 2023. Among the list is Martin Scorsese’s new film, Killers of the Flower Moon, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro. The platform also welcomes Ridley Scott’s project on Napoleon, carried by Joaquin Phoenix, but also the return of Matthew Vaughn, director of kick asswith Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa.

For 2022

A small phenomenon at the last Sundance festival, the romantic comedy Cha Cha Real Smooth with Dakota Johnson arrives on June 17. The film tells the story of a bar mitzvah party host who befriends a young mother and her autistic daughter.

The animated film produced by the Skydance Animation studio, Luck, is due out on August 5. Dubbed by Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg and Simon Pegg, follows the merciless battle between two secret organizations, luck and bad luck. Luck pursues the world’s unluckiest girl, who after discovering the untold world of luck and happiness, must team up with magical creatures to discover a force more powerful than luck itself.

Starting in the fall, Apple TV+ will unveil the drama Raymond & Ray which brings together Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke. The two actors play brothers who meet at the funeral of their abusive father. At the same time, director Peter Farrelly will present his new film, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, with Zac Efron and Russell Crowe. The true story of a man who goes to Vietnam during the war in order to share a few beers with his friends present on the front.

The end of the year will be loaded with the comedy Spirited, a reinterpretation of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. Antoine Fuqua will also find Will Smith for Emancipation, adapted from the story of a man who manages to free himself from slavery.

Finally, the month of December will mark the return of Martin Scorsese, with Killers of the Flower Moon. The film, with a budget of 200 million dollars, looks back on the murders committed against an Indian tribe in Oklahoma who had found oil on their land. Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro and Jesse Plemons will share the poster.

For 2023

The director of kick ass and of Kingsman, Matthew Vaughn, returns with Argylle. An action-thriller about a spy, played by Henry Cavill. The British actor is surrounded by the singer of Dua Lipa, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Bryce Dallas Howard or even John Cena.

The rest of the year will see the arrival of the thriller Sharper with Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan; Ghosted, with Chris Evans and Ana de Armas; The Beanie Bubble with Elizabeth Banks and Zach Galifianakis; but also Tetris, biopic on the inventor of the famous video game with Taron Egerton.

Another major project, that of Ridley Scott with Napoleon. This film about the French emperor will be the director’s first feature film for a platform. On the screen, Joaquin Phoenix portrays the title role and Vanessa Kirby plays his wife, Josephine.

In development

Filmmaker Adam McKay prepares Bad Blood, adapted from the true story of Elizabeth Holmes, a rogue scientist starring Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role. The actress is also attached to another project for Apple TV+ around a biopic on the famous agent of stars, Sue Mengers.

Other titles are announced with Snowblinda thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal, but also Flangea film worn by Scarlett Johansson, and Dolly with Florence Pugh.
