which bank to choose to reduce your banking fees?

In terms of banking rates, the offer is as diverse as the landscapes in the vast Nouvelle-Aquitaine region… In fact, the 24 major establishments present in the region offer their customers rates that can range from simple to triple.

Every year in November, MoneyVox publishes a major pricing study, based on 3 typical customer profiles (Young, Classic and Premium). After analyzing the 2024 tariff lines of nearly 110 banks, we have established a classification of establishments according to the level of bank charges charged. It is also an opportunity to award a Bank Trophy to those who show themselves to be particularly virtuous in terms of rates.

For New Aquitaine, here are the lessons to be learned: the Banque Populaire is advantageous for young people; Crdit Agricole de la Touraine et du Poitou stands out in the Classic profile; while Crdit Mutuel Ocan is among the cheapest local banks in France for the Premium profile.

Young people: between 20 and 59 euros per year in bank fees

For this profile, the Banques Populaires are in the lead. If our rules for awarding Bank Trophies (1) make that alone BP Val de France (present in Vienne), BP Auvergne Rhne Alpes (present in Corrze) and BP Occitane (in Lot et Garonne) are rewarded, the Banque Populaire Aquitaine Center Atlantique also charges prices almost equivalent to the three winners. It will cost between 20.90 and 22.15 euros in these establishments for the young people in our study who choose to establish their account there. The main advantage of these banks: their Cristal Essentiel package, billed only 1 euro per month for 12-24 year olds and which integrates numerous services (account maintenance, online management, provision of an immediate debit Visa classic card, 3 withdrawals moved by month included…). For comparison, the average banking fees charged by the 24 establishments in the region amounts to 29.94 euros (the lowest of all the metropolitan regions among young people).

Crdit Agricole de la Touraine and Poitou, in the lead in the Classic profile

With an annual cost of 148 euros, Crdit Agricole de la Touraine and Poitou (present in particular in Vienne) won the Trophy for the cheapest Bank on the Classic profile. This rate is obtained not by subscribing to a package, but by paying for the card for each of the services useful to our typical customer. The bank is the 4th cheapest traditional establishment in all of mainland France on this Classic profile.

Behind, and even if they are not distinguished by our reward, three other Crdit Agricole (Centre Ouest, Charente-Maritime Deux Svres and Aquitaine) offer a fairly similar bill, less than 156 euros for the year. The average in the territory of Nouvelle-Aquitaine is 174.77 euros. Note: while they were particularly attractive for the Young profile, the Banques Populaires are this time the most expensive for the Classic client-type.
