Next December, France will know the name of its next Miss. But which region has the best chance of winning the crown?

Diane Leyre, our Miss France 2022, quickly found her voice. Every morning, the young woman intervenes in The Morning Without Filter from Virgin Radio. This Sunday, September 11, the Parisian of origin has, it seems, dropped the date of next Miss France 2023 elections.”I return my crown on December 17, but I continue the radio afterwards, dropped the young woman of 25 years, then questioned about her career plans. If the date has not been confirmed by the committee, now directed by Cindy Fabreit would seem entirely plausible that the ceremony would be held on that day. Three months from the fateful day, what can we expect from this new Miss promotion? Are there regions that have a higher chance of winning the crown? Feminine tells you everything!

Last year, the election of Diane Leyre confirmed the statistics. In effect, the Miss Île-de-France are among the most elected young women since the creation of the competition in 1920. In total, sixteen Franciliennes have been crowned. A record which is explained in particular by the number of inhabitants present in Île-de-France, the most populated region of France. In second place, New Aquitaine ranks far behind with ten coronations. The Grand Est region closes the podiumwith nine young women elected.

Hauts-de-France, the new region that takes everything?

In fourth place, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes finds itself tied with Normandy, where Amandine Petit, Miss France 2021, is from, and Hauts-de-France, which monopolized the competition between 2015 and 2018. Indeed, Camille Cerf (2015), Iris Mittenaère (2016), which has also crowned Miss Universe 2016, as well as Maëva Coucke (2018) were all from Nord-Pas-de-Calais. A very close triple victory which could be explained by the strong interest of the inhabitants of Hauts-de-France for the ceremony. With the region being the fifth most populous in the country, this could also tip the balance when it comes to voting.

Guyana and the Centre-Val de Loire, at the bottom of the ranking

This year, the beauty contest will be held in Châteauroux, in the Centre-Val de Loire. A region that did not shine with its number of Miss. Indeed, the only one to have represented it is Flora Coquerelin 2014. With only one victory on the clock, we also find the department of Alicia Aylies. Before its election in December 2016, Guyana had never emerged victorious from the competition. On the side of Mayotte, Martinique or Saint-Martin, the crown was never won in over 100 years. But like Hauts-de-France, these regions are not immune to an exceptional upwelling.
