If you have never heard of Civilization Fighters, it’s a Street Fighter-like game designed by Orelsan and a top creative team of 8 people under the direction of Raoul Barbet, director of Life is Strange and creator of the animation film studio Capsule. Video game production was developed in the form of arcade cabinets especially for the Orelsan tour, one month before its launch.
Since then, the rapper’s fans who have come from all over France for the concerts compete on Civilization Fighters with a set of simple but more than effective blows and above all classic productions in versus fighting: fists, feet, aerial attacks, uppercuts and a special per character. This is reminiscent of the first concerts of Orelsan during which the Caennais rapper played Street Fighter with friends or with spectators on the scene. An unusual addition to his show, which complemented the typical universe of the artist: cool.
A Civilization Fighters tournament on the program?
The Civilization Tour, the Orelsan tour will start again this October 25 and in order to celebrate the resumption of these concerts of madness, the rapper decided to launch a competition around Civilization Fighters. All this will allow the rapper to never lose this spirit that forged him, and to encourage his fans to share his universe.
Players will therefore have the choice between a more than elaborate roaster, made up of key people in the rapper’s career: his sidekick from Casseurs Flowters Gringe, the director of his albums Skread, his manager Ablaye, his grandmother dressed in a traditional Japanese kasa, his musicians, Raelsan and many others personalities recognized by the rapper’s fans. When our teams tested the game last March, only Orelsan and Raelsan were playable but there is no doubt that since then, production has greatly expanded.
It was on his official Twitter page that Orelsan announced the great news to future players: a tournament around Civilization Fighters will be organized during the different dates of the Civilization Tour… but not only !
How to participate?
Of course, the unusual idea of such a tournament makes you want to and don’t worry, there are many more ways to participate than you think… It seems that Orelsan has planned everything! Thus, players can embark on the Civilization Fighters adventure in different ways:
- At the Civilization Tour concerts. If you have taken your tickets for one of the concerts of the Orelsan tour, you will be able to take part in the tournament directly on site.
- In Fnac stores partners on specific dates (details right here).
- Throughout Paris Games Week on the Asus ROG stand where two qualifying tournaments will be organized, the 2 (3-4 p.m.) and 5 (1-2 p.m.) november.
Unfortunately, the selections are already closed for most dates and players wishing to participate in this event will have to do so through Paris Games Week. Even if it is not possible to participate, fans will still be able to enjoy the show and witness clashes that risk being explosive.
For now, we don’t know what prizes the winners of the different tournaments will win, but after all, the important thing is still to have fun, right?
