While waiting for The Witcher Remake, take advantage of this reference from the saga for only €1!

It was during CD Projekt RED’s anniversary that the company first mentioned the name of Canis Majoris, a very mysterious project. Through a official announcementthe fans finally had their hearts clear: a full UE5 remake of The Witcher was in the works from CD Projekt RED studios.

But while players are more than eager to (re)discover Geralt’s very first video game adventures, we may have something to keep them waiting…

The Witcher at €1?

Released in 2007, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition puts the apprentice witchers in the shoes of a Geralt suffering from amnesia. As he slowly recovers from his emotions, Kaer Morhen, the witchers’ headquarters is attacked and the mutagen formula for creating similar mutants is stolen. Our white-haired protagonist will therefore have to try everything so as not to leave the formula in question in the wrong hands.

In this first opus very far from what we know with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the key characters of the plot like Yennefer or Ciri do not seem to show the end of their noses. Conversely, we observe a rather flirty Geralt which sometimes seems to chain conquests.

To find out more about all this, GoG has decided to treat fans of the witcher proposing The Witcher: Enhanced Edition at the sweet price of 1.19€ instead of 7.99€ usual.

Enough to make players impatient to discover the remake of this first opus wait with the original version which, despite an apparent agingretains the flagship atmosphere of the CD Projekt RED license.

A remake that sounds like a return to basics

For Adam Badowski, director of CD Projekt RED studios, this next remake is a way to introduce the new generation of players to this mythical first opus, which marked the beginning of a great adventure.

“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD PROJEKT RED. It was the first game we made, and it was a big moment for us. Going back to that time and remaking the game so that the next generation of players can find out is just as important, if not more so.”

Supervised by CD Projekt RED, the production in question will still bring together veterans of the license. Althoughno release date has been announced yet. everyone is waiting impatiently to be able to immerse themselves in the fantastic world of our favorite witcher!

While we learned last May that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offered a new release window on next-gen consoles, we really had no more news. However, this is nothing more than a bad nightmare since CD Projekt Red has finally met our expectations.

The release of The Witcher first of the name in the form of a video game by the small Polish studio CD Projekt Red already dates back to October 26, 2007. We can say that they have come a long way since then. To celebrate, a remake under Unreal Engine 5 has just been announced.
