Thanks to a temperature rise system which abandons heating resistors for magnets which, theoretically, do not produce heat, induction hobs have many qualities compared to their more traditional glass-ceramic competitors. And one of the main ones is the ease of maintenance since the food that escapes from the utensils does not come into contact with a surface that is too hot, which would cause them to stick irreparably in the moment.
To simplify all this even more, Whirlpool has developed a special coating called CleanProtect which, if we believe the manufacturer, “removes the most stubborn stains with just water, effortlessly and without the use of detergent”. Another advantage of the CleanProtect film is that it must protect the plate from the ravages of time and, in particular, from the halos that form and gradually spoil the immaculate appearance of the appliance.
Nevertheless, except for this protective layer, the Whirlpool WFS5060CPBF CleanProtect hob is a model that is not out of the ordinary, except for the number of power levels provided. Indeed, the cook has the choice between 18 levels to manage the maximum power of 7200 W distributed over four inductors. All this should make it possible to very precisely regulate the temperature within the utensils.
There are also the essential individual boosters, the timer, as well as the chef function (here called Chef Control). A way of cooking inspired by great chefs: instead of modifying the power of the inductors, the saucepans and other pans are moved to pre-set cooking zones, which makes it possible to gain in reactivity. As often with Whirlpool, a sixth sense touch simplifies the use of the plate. Thanks to it, you can select one of the four cooking modes offered: boil, simmer, melt or keep warm.
The Whirlpool WFS5060CPBF CleanProtect hob is already available at a price of €599.
