KYIV, May 7 (Reuters) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Saturday called on Russia to end its offensive in Ukraine and in particular to stop bombing the country’s health facilities .
“My message to the Ukrainian people is this: WHO is on your side,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a visit to Kyiv.
The director of emergency operations of the WHO, Mike Ryan, specified during the same press conference that the UN organization had already documented 200 attacks against hospitals and health establishments in Ukraine.
He added that the WHO would hand over the evidence collected to investigators tasked with determining whether war crimes were committed.
