Revalued on January 1, 2023, the daily parental presence allowance (AJPP) concerns parents who must stop working to guarantee a sustained presence for their children who need it. Explanations.

Sometimes, the disability or illness of a child requires a great presence of his parents ; the latter must then take parental presence leave and stop working to take care of it. The daily parental presence allowance (AJPP) is intended for parents who have at least one dependent child under the age of 20 Who, according to the public service website “needs a sustained presence and restrictive care following an illness or handicap or a particularly serious accident”. Parents can be employees of a private company or public service agents on parental presence leave, traveling sales representatives (VRP), home-based employees employed by a private employer, self-employed workers, in paid vocational training, or job seekers. compensated by Pôle emploi.

To apply for an AJPP, a form must be completed with the child’s attending physician. A medical certificate attesting to the need for a sustained presence and restrictive medical care must also be sent. It must also specify the duration of the treatment. The family allowance fund (Caf) then determines the number of days the parents must be absent to take care of their child. The right to the AJPP is open for a maximum duration of three years : during this period, each parent is entitled to 310 days of daily allowances, to be distributed according to the needs of the child. Each month has 22 days of allowances, knowing thatit is possible to take half-days if the child’s daily life allows it.
