The general director of the Alliance Fédérale du Crdit Mutuel, Daniel Baal, was unanimously elected president of the Crdit Mutuel group on Thursday and will succeed Nicolas Théry, the bank said.
The general assembly of the Confédération Nationale du Crédit Mutuel, made up of the presidents of all the Crédit Mutuel federations representing the 8.9 million members, unanimously elected Daniel Baal, president of the Central East Europe federation, as President , wrote the bank in a press release.
This election – unsurprisingly – was carried out in three stages, over the course of the day: Daniel Baal was elected Thursday morning at the head of the Crédit Mutuel Center Est Europe Federation then that of the Federal Alliance (which brings together 14 of the 18 federations of the group, as well as several subsidiaries including the CIC) and finally won Thursday evening the election of the Confederation, the head body of the bank.
The board of directors of the Central East Europe Federation has appointed Maurice Zirnhelt as general director of this Federation, according to the group.
To support Daniel Baal in his responsibilities as President of Crdit Mutuel Alliance Fdrale, Eric Petitgand was appointed as Managing Director – current Deputy Managing Director -, and Anne Sophie Van Hoove, Deputy Managing Director – current Managing Director of CIC Nord Ouest, adds a press release. The only question hanging over this vote was whether the new president would be elected unanimously.
Peace regained between the Federal Alliance and the enemy brothers of Arka
The fact that all the regional funds voted for Daniel Baal indicates a new stage of peace found between the Federal Alliance and the enemy brothers of Arka (federations of Brittany and the South-West), as well as the full support and entire of the two independent federations (Maine-Anjou, Basse-Normandie and Ocan).
