State aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle will be raised on Monday, with additional amounts for people with disabilities or low incomes, according to a decree published on Saturday in the Official Journal.
The maximum bonus for the purchase of an electric bike will increase from 200 to 300 euros and will no longer be conditional on the payment of aid from a local authority. It remains reserved for people whose taxable income per share is less than 13489 euros.
For the people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per share is less than or equal to 6,300 euros, the aid may go up to 400 euros. The latter will also be entitled to higher aid to buy a cargo bike, a folding bike or an electric trailer for a bike: the maximum bonus that can be granted to them will increase to 2,000 euros, compared to 1,000 euros for other beneficiaries of aid. For all other types of bike, they will be entitled to assistance from a amount equivalent to 40% of the purchase price, up to 150 euros.

Finally, for people with disabilities or low incomes who wish to get rid of a polluting vehicle to buy an electric bike, the maximum amount of the conversion bonus is increased 3000euros, against 1500euros for other aid recipients. The conversion bonus will also be available to several members of the same tax household from January 1, 2023.
