Who is entitled to this revalued and extended aid on January 1, 2024?

Since December 2022, French people can benefit from repair bonus. As its name suggests, this government system allows you to benefit from reductions to have various items repaired and thus fight against waste. Indeed, 90% of breakdowns are not repaired. A very high figure that the government hopes to reduce, within the framework of the anti-waste law. And the advantage of the repair bonus is that there are no costs to advance. In fact, the amount of aid is directly deducted from the repair invoice, provided you go through a Qualirépar-certified repairer.

However, there is currently only 4,300 certified repairers In France. As a result, the repair bonus is currently not very popular with the French. But the government intends to remedy this situation. Starting by labeling major brands like Fnac Darty, Boulanger or Apple. But also by expanding the system. Result, from January 1, 2024, the repair bonus will be doubled for 5 household appliances, namely the vacuum cleaner, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer and television.

Bonus repair: mobile phone screen repair integrated into the device

But that’s not all. For 21 types of devices (laptops, kettles, drones, etc.), the bonus increases by 5 euros. And especially, 24 new devices will be eligible for this repair bonus. Among them: electric shavers, hair dryers, microwave ovens and even printers. In total, 73 devices will be eligible for the repair bonus compared to 49 currently.

And the good news: mobile phone screen repair is also entering the system from January 1, 2024. But the bonus will only be 25 euros on the average bill of 150 euros. “It’s not going to make a big difference but, at the moment, any help is welcome,” declares a customer to TF1.
