Dr. Michael Dixon is known for his use of homeopathy. As the English press explains, the 71-year-old practitioner is a fan of so-called “complementary” medicine such as the use of devil’s claw, horny goat weed or Christian “healers”, i.e. methods that are controversial or proven ineffective.
The French Ministry of Health also specifies that the alternative medicine that constitutes homeopathy is characterized by a “lack of demonstration of effectiveness”. Several studies have in fact demonstrated the ineffective aspect of homeopathic treatments. They are also dangerous if they replace conventional care.
Buckingham Palace defends the choice of this doctor
Faced with this controversy, many voices were raised last December to denounce the arrival of the doctor at the head of the royal health service. But sure of his choice, King Charles then defended his new guardian angel in a press release, emphasizing that Doctor Michael Dixon has several prestigious titles, namely president of the College of Medicine and Integrated Health, former president of the National Health Services and Medal of the Order for service to the British Empire.
