With 40 parties standing for this year’s Bundestag election, the decision may not be easy. At an average speed, it would take ten days to read all the election programs without a break. Sounds like a lot, but it doesn’t have to be! Some bright minds have developed initiatives and websites to help us gather information.

Wahl-O-Mat
An editorial team made up of young voters and experts developed 80 questions that the parties had to answer. Then 38 theses were selected. The: the user: in can now agree, reject, skip or click “neutral”. The tool then calculates the proximity of the users to a party or their position. For this year’s general election alone, the classic has already been consulted ten million times.

The #stattblumen initiative highlighted the structural disadvantage of women within the corona situation and drew attention to the lack of feminist politics. The five parties CDU / CSU, SPD, Die Grünen, Die Linken and FDP take a position on 32 issues on various topics related to equality.

Grandchildren’s letters
This is not about informing yourself, but about informing others. What’s behind the action? In recent years, young people have stepped up and loudly advocated political action against the climate crisis. But with a share of only 15%, those under 30 years of age are far from making a choice! To change that, this initiative is relying on the letter to change grandma and grandpa so that a party is elected that is pro-climate. Using the letter generator, a copy can be quickly made for the grandparents. So far, 7020 letters have been created.
