Who Wants to Be a Millionaire ?: New episodes with an audience and additional jokers

The summer break is over: "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" returns to something normal after the introduction of corona measures.

"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" celebrates its comeback from the summer break with a double episode (from August 31, 8:15 p.m. on RTL and TVNow). In the new season, the quiz show will return to some normality after the coronavirus pandemic shook the concept of the show. Moderator Günther Jauch (64) can finally look forward to a "real" audience again, as reported by "rtl.de".

The quiz show had no spectators due to the corona. After all, half of the otherwise 200 spectators can now sit down in the studio again. "You notice that you are doing it for people, and that you are not just moderating into a black camera hole. Direct feedback is important on television," says Jauch happily. The guests should even all sit quite close together if they all came from a social group or family, explains the moderator.

Public joker ready for use again

In between, the legally prescribed distances still apply, so one chair remains free. "The mood is back, people can cheer and clap along. This is a new life for both the candidates and for me," said Jauch. Due to the presence of the audience, the audience and additional jokers are used again in the new season. The "millionaire jokers" introduced with Corona, i.e. former "WWM" winners, and the opportunity to ask the accompanying person are no longer applicable.
