But who is he? Star TV tells you more. Born in 1982 in Bordeaux, Xavier Domergue is the son of a well-known footballer, Jean-Francois Domergue. However, he did not want to follow the same career as him and went to studies at Bordeaux business school, before turning to journalism. “My son saw football more as a leisure sport“, Jean-François Domergue said in an interview with Le Parisien. Determined to move into another field, Xavier Domergue nevertheless specialized in sport and more particularly football. He participated in several internships within the editorial staff of the magazine France Football then then to Eurosport.

He is passionate. Xavier Domergue’s career began as a freelance writer at Orange, My Sport Channel and Canal +. In 2012, he was able to join the editorial staff of bein Sports. It was thus commentator and worked on Ligue 1, Euro in 2012 then in 2016. He had the opportunity to cover the 2014 world cup but also that of 2018. A few years later, in June 2020, he was hired by the channel M6 and notably commented the matches of the French men’s and women’s team. He was also present during Euro 2021 and worked jointly with Robert Pirès. While his voice is very often put forward, he is used to being compared to Grégoire Margotton. “It doesn’t bother me“, he said in an interview with the Parisian. However, he assured that he”would like to stop talking to me“. The reason ? “I’m not trying to copy, it’s not my idea. I prefer to have fun. Grégoire had some nice messages. We both sound pretty serious. Grégoire was a source of inspiration like Thierry Gilardi and others. It’s okay to be inspired by the best, he had concluded.

His profile corresponds well to what we want to offer with this show. Xavier was a very good moderator in this second season, he had a very good cohesion with the jury“, he had concluded.
