At 11 am this morning, the funeral mass of Bernard Tapie was held in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Among the 300 people present in the enclosure, one could count some great French political, sporting and artistic names.
It is in the heart of the 6th arrondissement of Paris, within the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, that anonymous and famous people have gathered to say a last goodbye to “Nanar”. The coffin entered the grounds of the church to the applause of OM supporters, scarves around their necks and tears in their eyes. Symbolic gesture recalling the time when Bernard Tapie was president of this team. But what stood out the most was certainly the prestige of the guests present on site.
Among them, we were able to find the director Claude Lelouch, who had also made Tapie shoot in his film Men, women, instructions for use. At his side, there was the actor Pierre Arditi, the singer and actress Line Renaud and the eternal host Michel Drucker. Other big names in the social botin were also there such as Marc-Olivier Fogiel, CEO of BFM TV, the founder of Free Xavier Niel and also the advertising man Jacques Séguéla.

Former minister Jean-Louis Borloo even carried his coffin
Given the versatility of Bernard Tapie’s activities, political figures have come together alongside media celebrities. Nicolas Sarkozy as well as former ministers of his government, such as Rachida Dati or Jean-Louis Borloo, answered the call. The former Minister of the Economy and Finance also came out carrying the coffin of the deceased.
And of course, we must not forget the former sportsmen close to Bernard Tapie: the former striker Jean-Pierre Papin, the former coach Rolland Courbis and the former football star Basile Boli. A very special mention is awarded to the First Lady Brigitte Macron who freed up some of her time to join the procession. We must add to these many guests, 250 people who modestly came to say goodbye to the deceased. Proof that the death of Bernard Tapie touched onlookers as much as celebrities.
