Who will be a millionaire ?: These are the previous millionaires

This is followed by the summer break: From June 8, RTL repeats four special episodes of its quiz show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" On Mondays (also via TVNow): In the episodes four candidates can be seen, who ended up going out of the show as a millionaire. Cologne's Ronald Tenholte, owner of a juice bar, is making the start, he is the last winner. But who were his predecessors? A look back at the previous "WWM" millionaires.

On March 24, 2020, he was able to win the million by answering correctly how many boards a "classic, standardized Euro pallet EPAL 1" consists of. Ronald Tenholte is the tenth normal millionaire; Special editions excluded. How does he rate his recipe for success? "Point number one: good preparation. Point number two: just play at risk. But that is also my nature," said Tenholte after his victory in the RTL interview. And finally, a very important factor is simply happiness. "There were some questions that came very well to me. For example, the very last question about Euro pallets. I meet them almost every day in my shop," says Tenholte, who also showed perseverance until he won millions: in 2016 and 2018 he was already in the selection round at "WWM", but did not make it onto the chair. A millionaire was also chosen in 2019.

Jan Stroh and Leon Windscheid

Jan Stroh, a fully qualified lawyer from Hamburg, was able to answer the million-dollar question correctly in the "Jubilee Special" on his 20th birthday, namely that the Grimm fairy tale "Hans im Glück" didn't say "Once upon a time …"? begins. In the middle of May 2020 he started again as a joker at "WWM" – but brought candidate Melanie Schulz no luck and guessed the wrong answer. Straw's predecessor in 2015 was Leon Windscheid (31), who started his own business as an event manager in 2007 and did his doctorate in psychology. He knew that the classic Rubik's Cube, invented by Ernö Rubik, consists of 26 stones. In 2017 he published the book "The secret of the psyche – how to win a million with Günther Jauch and other ways to keep your nerve" and has since been heard on podcasts and seen on his stage program.

Nadja Sidikjar and Thorsten Fischer

Nadja Sidikjar even made more than one million in 2015, more precisely 1,538,450 euros. In the jackpot special, the winnings of all players who make it to the advice chair are collected in a jackpot and only the candidate who answers most questions correctly at the end gets everything – the others go away empty-handed. In a jump-off Sidikjar hit the buzzer faster than her competitor and was right. In 2014 Fischer, an independent restaurateur from Hameln, cleared the million and won the 15th "WWM" birthday in the anniversary broadcast. He knew that the distance from the capital Berlin to the center of the earth was about the same as that between Berlin and New York.

Sebastian Langrock and Ralf Schnoor

In March 2013 Sebastian Langrock was named the first millionaire to win with the risk variant. The professional poker player from Munich has been participating in live tournaments since 2012 and has already earned around $ 800,000. "For almost two and a half years, Mr. Langrock has been the first to win another million euros from us," said Jauch Langrock's telephone joker, whom he only called to announce the good news. A similar situation happened in 2010 with café owner Ralf Schnoor. He called his phone joker, even though he already knew the answer to the million-dollar question: "What is the name of the first German postage stamp that was issued in Bavaria in 1849? A: Schwarzer Einser".

Timur Hahn and Stefan Lang

The elevator technician at the time, Stefan Lang, was crowned millionaire in 2006. He knew that oxygen was the most mass element in the human body. From the profit, Mr. Lang went on a trip to India with his family, paid off a condominium and bought his wife a VW Beetle. According to RTL, Lang is currently expanding motorhomes professionally and has thus fulfilled a dream. Timur Hahn, when he won millions, he was an English student, won in 2007. Born in Bendorfer (near Koblenz), he previously lived on around 200 euros a month and was able to finance his studies with the prize and give his parents a wedding.

Maria Wienströer and Gerhard Krammer

In October 2002, the first euro millionaire was chosen: Gerhard Krammer. The student of philosophy and music answered the last question: "Which famous writer built a swimming pool in Zurich as a qualified architect?" with "C: Max Frisch" and was correct. Assistant doctor Maria Wienströer knew in 2004 that Linus Pauling received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1954 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962. From her win she has fulfilled the dream of her own practice.

Marlene Grabherr and Eckhard Freise

The main prize was paid twice in German marks: In May 2001, Marlene Grabherr, office clerk from Gottmadingen, knew that the two Gibb brothers of the pop band The Bee Gees, Robin and Barry, were twins. Eckhard Freise (75) took the million home for the first time on December 2, 2000. The history professor knew that Edmund Hillary stood at the summit of Mount Everest with Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Since his victory, the knowledge expert has taken part in other quiz shows, on the ARD program "Quizduell – Der Olymp" he is part of the three-person advice team that competes against celebrities.

The celebrity millionaires

Stars were also able to look forward to the million in the celebrity special, which they then donated to a charity. In May 2008, comedian Oliver Pocher (42) answered the last question "The Nagel-Schreckenberg model provides an explanation for the origin of …?" With "traffic jams". In the same year, Thomas Gottschalk (70) cheered in November the millionaire question "What was the name of Franz Kafka's last partner whom he met in 1923, a year before his death?" with "Dora Diamant". The first and only female "WWM" celebrity millionaire is Barbara Schöneberger (46 In 2011, she tapped "Walter" on the final question "What is the name of the boy from whom Wilhelm Tell shoots the legendary apple?"
