who would have won if only the public had voted?

This Saturday, December 16, the Miss France competition crowned Eve Gilles. The representative of Nord-Pas-de-Calais rose to the top of a tight ranking. But the outcome would have been very different if only the public vote had been taken into account.

The year 2024 finally has its Miss. This Saturday, December 16, the public and the jury of Miss France 2024 (TF1) elected Eve Gilles. The one who represented Nord-Pas-de-Calais stood out for her short hair, a novelty in the history of the competition. A second year MIASHS degree student (Mathematics and computer science applied to human and social sciences), in Lille, the 20-year-old young woman did not hide her pride: “It’s one of my particularities! I’m the first woman to run for office miss France with short hair, so obviously it can catch the eye and get people talking! Society evolves, the competition evolves with it. I’m the first with short hair, but I think I won’t be the last.” An originality which gave him the crown.

But if she rose to the top of the ranking, the young woman from Quaëdypre (North) was not necessarily unanimous with the jury and the public, unlike her predecessor Indira Ampiot. If we are to believe the results of the list, it is indeed another candidate who convinced the public. And it is about the first runner-up, Miss Guyana, aka Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï !

The first runner-up of Miss France 2024 won over the public

The 18-year-old young woman, originally from Kourou (Guyana) and in the first year of preparation at a business school in Cayenne, won over the public who gave him the maximum number of points in each round. During the first round, Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï delighted 15 points, compared to 13 for Eve Gilles. And during the second round, the spectators also rewarded her with 5 points. Eve Gilles only earned 3 points from the public. It was the jury that made her reach first place during the two rounds, with 15 then 5 points, against 11 and 2 points for Miss Guyana. The ranking results were therefore tight between the two young women: Eve Gilles won 28 points in total during the first round, against 26 for Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï. And this one gained 7 points during the second, placing it just one point behind the winner, who won 8 in all. It was therefore the jury which tipped the scales, making Eve Gilles the fourth Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais to win the beauty contest.
