USB-C is coming to iPhone soon (about time)
It was during last summer: the European Union signed the final end of the Lightning port. This obligation has been adopted by the vast majority of smartphone manufacturers except Apple, which continues to equip its devices with its famous proprietary Lightning connector to this day. If, technically, the new measure will not apply until the end of next year, more precisely in the fall of 2024, the iPhone 15 will indeed be the first smartphone from the Apple brand. bitten to sport a USB-C port.
On the web, many smart guys have already got down to the task and replaced the iPhone’s Lightning port with a USB-C port. Today’s example goes even further since it does not have either one or the other only… but rather both at the same time! After all, why choose?

The great thing about the internet is that in no time the wackiest ideas can come to life and give even wackier ideas to others. As reported by our colleagues from 9to5Mac, an engineer had fun adding a USB-C port to his iPhone without sacrificing the Lightning port. Indeed, contrary to what we were used to seeing, the two ports coexist here nicely next to each other and are perfectly functional. Anyway, here is an amazing (but no less nice) discovery. As a reminder, it has been several years since Apple amputated its headphone jack from its iPhones. The iPhone 7 was the first to usher in this change in 2017. The iPhone 15 should, in turn, mark a new change with the adoption of a USB-C port.
