Disney finally decided to release Wakanda Forever in cinemas in France. But the firm wants a serious discussion around modernizing the media timeline.

The film will serve as the conclusion to Phase 4 of the MCU.

Disney wants to discuss media timeline

It was through a press release and through the voice of its president France, Hélène Etzi, that Disney announced that the Marvel film Wakanda Forever would finally arrive in theaters with us. See you on November 9th.

Still directed by Ryan Coogler, this new MCU feature film had been the subject of a standoff for several weeks between the firm with the big ears and the French public authorities. The reason ? The media chronology, deemed unsuitable by Disney compared to the ” spectator behaviors and expectations “. The statement revealing that the film will arrive in theaters also states that this media timeline is “ counterproductive and exposes all producers and artists to an increased risk of piracy “.

In “exchange” for this arrival of Wakanda Forever in the cinema and not directly streaming on Disney+, “ a precise timetable has now been decided » with the public authorities to modernize the chronology of the media. From February 2023, reflections and debates between the actors of the sector will thus be carried out. In the meantime, the release of future Disney films will be done on a case-by-case basis.

Disney+

  • Disney classics in one place
  • Exclusive Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars series
  • A very attractive price

It was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Disney+ is not a Netflix rival but a complementary offer, geared particularly towards children and more broadly towards the family. The Star universe, meanwhile, remains the poor relation of the platform and will require several years of work to catch up with its competitors.
