Released in 2019, the latter had been nominated in eleven categories at the César and won three. On January 3, the actor and screenwriter revealed on Instagram that his film Masquerade was “eligible in all categories”. A feat notably possible thanks to the performances of François Cluzet, Pierre Niney or even Isabelle Adjani. However, when the nominations were announced on January 25, the film by Guy Bedos’ son did not appear in no category.
Again on his Instagram account, the director did not fail to raise it with a photo of a Caesar accompanied by a text. “Zero nomination”, he wrote with some emojis. Faced with this noticeable disappointmentNicolas Bedos wanted to send his thoughts to the film crew for his “fabulous job”. “The actresses, the actors, the sets, the costumes, the editing, the music: your talent and your confidence are the best rewards”he estimated before adding: “We raise our heads and we move forward!”
