Thomas Pesquet has shared his life for many years with Anne Mottet. The couple has no children for a very specific reason.

As for each of its missions, Thomas Pesquet was supported by his companion, Anne Mottet who he has been with for many years.
The couple has never had children and does not want to have any because Thomas Pesquet and his partner do not live together and see each other almost every 15 days when the astronaut is not on a mission. “It’s a couple’s choice”, had explained the one who is part of the Enfoirés to the Parisian before adding: “We never had so much time, nor the irrepressible desire to have it”. Indeed, the 44-year-old man does not have a minute to himself and had precisely specified: “I work all day and in the evening too (…) It’s a job that contaminates everything”, before concluding with: “It’s not an ideal job for the family”. Like his partner, he prefers to focus on his career rather than family life.

Thomas Pesquet and his companion are very happy like this, without children and without being constantly together. The astronaut had also described his couple in a portrait of Release published in 2016 as “independent and passionate”. The astronaut also said that when he is with his partner, they do many activities together.
“Running with Anne (…) , try kitesurfing again and walk in nature…Simple things that I missed”, he confided to our colleagues from She, a few days after returning to Earth. He had, moreover, revealed that before sleeping, he likes to watch films when he is alone but also with Anne Mottet and had then indicated: “I promised Anne that she would have the right to choose all the films for the next few years because I can be a little monomaniac”.
