Tesla must carry out yet another recall concerning more than 300,000 vehicles.

The manufacturer mentions a problem with the rear lights of certain models

Yet another recall at Tesla

A few weeks ago, Tesla proceeded to reimburse its Cyberquad, the fault of deficiencies related to mechanical suspensions and tire pressure. Today, the American is forced to recall very precisely 321,628 vehicles.

These are mainly Model 3 and Model Y developed between 2020 and 2022, which are likely to suffer from a software problem, which may lead to “ in rare cases » a malfunction in the rear lights.

A bug affecting the rear lights

At the American Highway Safety Agency (NHTSA), Tesla takes care to specify that the concern is not currently the cause of any accident. It is during ignition that the software would be likely to cause false detections, and thus cause intermittent flashing of the taillights. The indicators, brake and reversing lights are not affected by the problem.

Still, the problem officially affects more than 300,000 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, which will soon benefit from a free update that will correct the bug remotely. There is therefore no need for the motorists concerned to bring their vehicle back to the garage, everything will be done OTA, via a new version of the internal software.

Tesla says it was informed of the issue at the very end of October. In 2022, the firm carried out no less than 19 recalls in total, sometimes for an airbag problem, sometimes for a power steering problem or even for a safety problem with the electric windows… Can’t wait for 2023 then.
