Reporters Without Borders is publishing this week a new photo album entitled “Trees” and devoted to the protection of journalists investigating environmental scandals. This 70th work of the association allows it to obtain additional funds, which it needs in the context of the war in Ukraine.
“100 photos for freedom of the press”, says Reporters Without Borders. The non-governmental organization is releasing a new album this week. As for 30 years, these books help the NGO, and it needs it right now, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine where it lends a hand to journalists on the spot. The album, sold for 9.90 euros, this time offers a number on trees with photos of Yann-Arthus Bertrand, Sabine Weiss, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Robert Doisneau among others.
Warn about the dangers of investigating environmental scandals
The release of this album is an opportunity to ask a question: “How can we defend the planet if journalists are not free to investigate environmental scandals?” RSF recalls that on average, two journalists are killed each year for their investigations on this subject. RSF’s 70th album, trees, has been on newsstands since this week. The publication of this album also comes a few days after the death of French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff, killed in the city of Severodonetsk, in Donbass, the eastern region of Ukraine.
