why Selim, the son of the accused and Michel Fourniret will not be heard at the hearing

As part of Monique Olivier’s trial following the kidnapping of Estelle Mouzin by her husband Michel Fourniret, their son Selim, who was to be heard in court, announced that he would ultimately not be present.

THE trial of Monique Olivier opened a few days ago, it should make it possible to determine the involvement of Michel Fourniret’s partner in thekidnapping of Estelle Mouzin on January 9, 2003, a little over 20 years ago. The mother of the young girl who was 9 years old at the time of the incident attacked the justice system and the police during a strong and moving testimony. Just like his sister who demands answers while Estelle Mouzin’s body remains untraceable. During the eighth day of the trial, Thursday December 7, a friend of the young girl took the stand to deliver chilling testimony before the Nanterre Assize Court (Hauts-de-Seine). Megan was a neighbor of the Mouzin family and said she came across the man we nicknamed The Monster of the Ardennes near her home a few days before Estelle’s kidnapping.

If Megan was able to testify and explain that she had escaped the horror after Michel Fourniret had offered to accompany her in his white van, Selim was announced absent although he was due to testify on Friday December 8. This is what President Didier Safar expressed early this Thursday afternoon, giving the reasons which do not seem to have convinced him.

A new date set to hear Selim Olivier

In fact, Selim sent a medical certificate which allows him to waive his summons to court. “We have a difficulty with a witness: Selim Olivier was to be heard tomorrow, Friday December 8, at 2 p.m. Today at 12:20 p.m., we received from him a medical certificate, dated December 6, indicating that his state of health was incompatible with long-distance travel, he said. However, according to Didier Safar, the testimony of the child of the Fourniret-Olivier couple is essential because he was living in the family home at the time of Estelle Mouzin’s kidnapping. “It’s very important for Estelle Mouzin’s family to see him confronted by his mother in court”he added, without quoting Monique Olivier (Republican Yonne).

For her part, her collaborator Monique Allali seemed question Selim’s willingness to come and testify in court. “Unsurprisingly, he tries not to come and to provide a pretext, we can demand a medical certificate, we want him to come and that he comes physically”, she declared very officially. The Advocate General shared this view and added that it was important to “bring him before this court”while demanding a warrant to bring. “I said a month ago that it would happen like this. He is not accused, it remains a witness and the child of a criminal couplefor his part, wanted to recall Monique Olivier’s lawyer.

The president finally made the decision to summon Selim on December 13by videoconference, at 2 p.m., in order to hear his testimony.
