Why the climate movement relies on the wrong bridges

Approved Demonstration: The weekend’s rappels were approved.

As a reminder to those who apparently only think about the climate and forget the most important basics of living together: The Basic Law is the only true bridge to achieve something.

Ja, how can it be that the number of registered cars in Hesse is still increasing? Although “publicity has been created” so strikingly, for years, in the Dannenröder Forest, in the Fechenheimer Forest, on motorway bridges, and now new, through the daubing of the Basic Law monument in Berlin? The nice thing is that such actions literally drip off the Basic Law and its monument. Nevertheless, the climate movement should be careful what it plays with there. It is thanks to this Basic Law and the rights it grants that people were allowed to rappel down the motorways in Frankfurt and Mainz this weekend under the protection of the right to demonstrate and thus also the police.

Just a reminder to those who apparently only think about the climate and forget the most important basics of living together: This Basic Law is the only true bridge to achieve something. It guarantees separation of powers and parliamentary democracy. This democracy offers the opportunity, within the framework of great guaranteed freedoms, to give one’s opinion a hearing and voice in the political process. This is expressed in majorities that can, but also have to, be won in elections.
