Why the government does not deactivate all fake health passes

182,000 false health passes disappeared? On December 20, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, reported tens of thousands of false illicit health passes discovered. This would not be quite the case, because, currently, the majority of these documents would still be valid, confirms the General Directorate of Health (DGS), questioned by Liberation. During the government announcements, the Numerama site had counted only 3,307 health passes, on the blacklist. Why such a discrepancy?

These questions are still relevant today. As of December 29, there were only 3,601 blacklisted passes. A result still very far from reaching the 182,000 initially spotted. Asked by Cyberguerre, on this glaring difference, the cabinet of the Secretary of State in charge of Digital communicated, a few days ago, that “work was underway to improve the scope of anti-fraud devices”.

“Technical tools under development”

Statements that go in the same direction as those made since by the General Directorate of Health (DGS). “The tools that should be used to deactivate health passes in the context of legal proceedings are in fact not yet in place. These procedures as well as the related technical tools are being developed”, explained the institution.

It is, for the moment, not possible to place a health pass on the blacklist unless its legitimate owner or the issuing caregiver requests it, as explained by the Secretary of State in charge of Digital in Cyberwar, the media specialist created by the editorial staff of Numerama.
