If classic video calls between colleagues seem too often boring to you, Microsoft may have found the solution to improve everyone’s productivity. This solution materializes with the advent of a brand new application called Games for Work. This is added to Teams to allow users to play multiplayer during a meeting.
All games are offered in quick version and support games that can bring together from two to 250 players simultaneously. Don’t worry, there’s no violence on the program since it’s only mainstream titles like Lonely, Minesweeper, Wordament or icebreaker. All without any advertising!
A team affair
To justify the advent of this novelty for Teams, which is software generally used in a professional setting, Microsoft relies on a study by Brigham Young University. She claims that employees who play in teams can improve their productivity by as much as 20% compared to those who participate in more traditional team building activities. In addition, Microsoft believes that games have the ability to strengthen the “social capital” undermined by remote work.
In short, the objective clearly displayed by the brand is to bring together Internet users in a more user-friendly way around Teams. Anyway, the games attached to the software will obviously remain optional for those who do not wish to use them.
