The people magazine “Closer” publishes Friday in its new issue an interview with candidate LR in the presidential election. Accustomed to political questions, Valérie Pécresse, this time, confided in her private life. Joséphine Simon Michel, the journalist behind this interview, tells this interview to Europe 1.
We especially know the magazine Closer for his paparazzi photos, for the scoops he revealed, such as the affair between François Hollande and Julie Gayet through the famous images of the president on his scooter in 2014. This time, some presidential candidates agreed to speak openly to the magazine of subjects far removed from politics. The first to play the game is Valérie Pécresse. The LR candidate for the presidential election has revealed very personal information about her life.
The politician, for example, talks about her heartache, the teenager she was, and the brands of clothing she likes to wear. But also on more serious subjects, such as the attack she suffered in a stairwell when she was 22 years old.

“Convincing Valérie Pécresse was rather easy”, explains to Europe 1 Joséphine Simon Michel, the journalist who interviewed her. “I first messaged her chief of staff and managed to get an appointment a week later. And I had an hour with her. She knew it wouldn’t be political. and we needed to unveil the woman, the mother and the wife that she is.”
“Valérie Pécresse did not necessarily give me the impression of a very comfortable woman”, observes the journalist from Closer. “She is quite used to political questions. And there, I asked her such personal questions that, sometimes, she stopped to answer. These kinds of questions disconcerted her. But she took the time to confide, and it That’s what’s interesting about the result of the interview.”
Other candidates have already agreed to take part in this interview exercise to Closer. Their names have not yet been released. The interview with Valérie Pécresse can be found in the issue of Closer which hits newsstands Friday.
