According to the latest nPerf barometer on Wi-Fi internet connections in mainland France, Bouygues Telecom is the No. 1 operator, and it reigns supreme.

After the fixed Internet speeds which had crowned Free as the fastest operator on fixed networks of all technologies and optical fiber, nPerf published its barometer of the best overall Wi-Fi performance for the year 2022 on Friday. And this time, Bouygues Telecom emerged victorious by imposing itself on all the compartments measured.

Bouygues Telecom flashed speeding in uplink and downlink speeds

Bouygues Telecom therefore reigned over all the Wi-Fi tables at home in 2022. This is at least what emerges from the nPerf barometer, based on the tests carried out (more than 3 million) on Wi-Fi networks domestic from its application for mobile devices.

The operator was particularly impressed with the speeds. In downloading (downstream speeds), Bouygues Telecom has an average of 240.56 Mbits/s. It is very, very far ahead of Free (174.58 Mbits / s), Orange (173.77 Mbits / s) and SFR (169.78 Mbits / s), which are held in a pocket handkerchief.

In upload (upstream speeds), the results are just as impressive. The Bouygues Telecom rocket passed, presenting a proud average of 189.67 Mbits/s. This time, the operator is ahead of Orange (144.48 Mbits/s), SFR (115.15 Mbits/s) and Free (101.96 Mbits/s), which brings up the rear.

All operators have improved their performance

On the other data, starting with the latency, Bouygues Telecom also shone, with a latency measured at 16.16 ms. This allows it to steal first place in 2022 from Free, which nevertheless remains within quite decent standards, with an average of 17.16 ms, just behind Orange (16.90 ms). SFR, on the other hand, follows quite far (19.63 ms) while still remaining below the 20 ms mark.

On browsing tests (which correspond to the loading times of the 5 websites most visited by French Internet users, excluding YouTube), Bouygues Telecom posted a rate of 83.95% and did better than Free (83.19%), Orange (82.45%) and SFR (80.85%). Note that the four operators are improving compared to 2021.

Finally, regarding the viewing quality of a video on YouTube, the ranking is identical to that of navigation. Bouygues Telecom (87.92%) is ahead of Free (86.01%), Orange (84.50%) and SFR (83.75%).

Bouygues Telecom hit hard, since in addition to beating all of its competitors on the five tables, the operator managed to improve its own performance from the previous year. Obviously, the latest Bbox Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E seem to have given the brand a significant advantage.
