EDward Gaming, RNG and even FPX will soon be competing for a place at Wild Rift Worlds, with the launch of the WRL, the League of Legends competition with the biggest cash pool.

The organizers of LoL Wild Rift revealed yesterday on Weibo the details of the launch of the new Chinese Wild Rift League (WRL), which will begin on March 19, 2022 with Stage 1. Competitors will compete for a place in the first world championship on mobile games in the League of Legends universe, the Icons Global Championship, at the end of the playoffs scheduled for the end of April and mid-May.

In total, the announced prize pool is 5 million Yuan, or 715,000 euros, which makes it a higher prize pool than the Spring Split 2022 in LPL, the highest currently on LoL, with 600,000 euros. For many, this demonstrates the growing interest in gaming and the mobile scene on the side of Riot and esports in general. The worlds will take place in Europe from June 12 to July 10, 2022.

The list of the 12 teams that will participate in the WRL is as follows. The top four will have a place at IGC 2022.

  • Edward Gaming
  • FunPlus Phoenix
  • J-Team
  • JD Gaming
  • KeepBest Gaming
  • Nova Esports
  • Oh my God
  • OneChamp
  • Royal Never Give Up
  • Weibo-Team
  • ThunderTalk Gaming
  • WHG Esports

the WEC Championship is being played at the moment, especially on the side of Western Europe until March 20. Four teams can qualify for the final, alongside the winners of the Turkey and CIS groups, during the playoffs in Barcelona on May 5 to 8.
