Wildbox One: Huge bed in massive mini off-road trailer

MOBILITY

The Wheelhouse GmbH from Hamburg brought the small off-road caravan Wildbox One to the adventure all-wheel drive in Bad Kissingen. The motto is: Good quality at a fair price.

  • The Wildbox One off-road caravan is available at a price of 23,400 euros.
  • Even if it doesn’t look like it because of the dimensions, two adults and one child can sleep inside.
  • We took a look at the trailer at the adventure all-wheel drive and were impressed by the construction and the workmanship.

In addition to immensely large off-road mobile homes for hundreds of thousands of euros, the smaller, still affordable models in particular attract the attention of visitors at the Abenteuer Allrad in Bad Kissingen. True to the motto: look at the big ones, buy from the small ones. The WildBox One is a possible alternative to the ALiner Ranger 12 that we have already presented for 24,500 euros with fixed folding walls or to the Craxl trailer.

This trailer differs fundamentally from the usual “cardboard models”. The empty caravan, which weighs between 650 and 750 kilograms (permitted total weight: 1.3 tons), is enthroned on a hot-dip galvanized chassis, which optionally comes with independent wheel suspension and is therefore also suitable for poor roads.

The 30 millimeter thick sandwich panel construction, which is free of thermal bridges, leaves a massive impression. There is matching double glazing, two side doors and a skylight.

Despite the generous bed dimensions of 2.10 x 1.60 meters, there is plenty of storage space inside. Thanks to a padded headlining, there is excellent acoustics with the doors closed. You almost get the feeling of sitting in a safe cocoon. Other standard equipment includes warm white, dimmable LED lighting, a 20 Ah battery from Victron, water and waste water tanks each with a capacity of 10 liters and a kitchenette.

Optionally, WildBox installs a 200 watt solar system on the roof, a compressor refrigerator from Dometic or a ceramic hob. We also find the optionally available children’s bed charming, which is stretched across the foot area of the huge parents’ bed like a kind of camp bed.

price and availability

The Dutch WildBox One is distributed in Germany by Wheelhouse GmbH, among others. The mini caravan, which is already well equipped in the basic version, is available at a price of 23,400 euros. We will introduce you to other innovations from the camping sector at this point.
