Co-director on The Last of Us, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bruce Straley is necessarily respected by his peers. But after 18 years at Naughty Dog, he had decided to leave the company in 2017 to look to new horizons. We don’t know exactly what he’s been up to in the meantime, although he seems to have taken time for himself and come up with new ideas, but we do know what’s in store for him next.
Bruce Straley has just announced that he has mounted his own studio called Wildflower Interactive, a team that will create “small” games, loaded with creativity and unique aesthetics”, for the moment remotely and without a fixed office. He is already surrounded by a dozen developers whose list you can find on the official sitewho have worked on, among other things, call of duty, The Pathless, Abzu, Astroneer, Kena, The Last of Us Where Uncharted. And he is now looking to recruit more to move forward.

Starting something new means we can change the way things are done – with the games we make, the culture we grow, and the processes we use for both.
We create “small” games, full of creativity and with a unique aesthetic that explore the possibilities of our medium. And we’re building a small team of open-hearted creators who want to improve their skills while living a great life outside of work. With people who want to hone their craft, have a say in the process, feel respected for their contributions, and be part of the evolution of this awesome medium.
One more team to watch, even if it will probably take a few years before discovering its first project.
