This information may make you laugh, but it is true. In New York, it is advisable to wear a mask in order to practice "safe sex" during coronavirus.

"Come out covered!" recommends New York to its inhabitants in a guide intended for sexual practices, called Safer Sex and Covid-19. This sentence may remind you of the use of condoms, but here it is a question of a mask. Indeed, the city of Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City for the uneducated) recommends to wear a mask to have sex.

"We don't know if Covid-19 can spread vaginally or anal", explains the document, which recalls the little knowledge concerning the sexual transmission of Covid-19.

Likewise, he recommends having sex with people in his immediate circle, reports CNN. Yes, you read correctly.

So, you must closely monitor the symptoms (fever, dry cough, fatigue, …), and get tested regularly, at least once a month, if there is an adventure with a partner not known to the radards, emphasizes the department.

But the best, they say, is masturbation. "You are your safest sexual partner. Masturbation does not spread Covid-19", stipulates the document. Virtual sex is also envisaged, otherwise it is said to use positions which put the least possible face to face the two partners and"favor large, open and ventilated spaces."

Very open, the scientists in charge of these recommendations ask couples to be creative in terms of positions:

"Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, that allow sexual contact while preventing face-to-face contact." These specialists point out that people over 65 are most at risk of developing serious forms of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Latest information before spending a sweet masked moment, New York health authorities report that traces of Covid-19 have been found in human sperm. But at the moment, no studies prove that the disease is sexually transmitted.
