In the near future, Volkswagen will offer a small 100% electric SUV that could disrupt the market.

This SUV is expected for 2025 and would be displayed at less than 20,000 euros.

A small “low cost” SUV at Volkswagen?

While the manufacturer is currently testing on the roads the one that will act as ” Passat electric Volkswagen is also preparing an offensive on the “low cost” electric car market. Indeed, Volkswagen is preparing what would be a small zero-emission SUV, which could retain very compact dimensions, similar to those of a Polo.

For Volkswagen, it would therefore be a question of coming to meet a very strong demand on the market, by developing a compact SUV from a new version of the MEB house platform. This Volkswagen ID.1 should have a 57 kWh battery, enough to give it a range of around 400 kilometers.

The great strength of this future Volkswagen electric SUV will also be its price, since we are talking about an introductory price of less than 20,000 euros. Note that Skoda and SEAT should also offer a compact electric vehicle, based on the MEB platform. It remains to be seen now where the soaring prices of electric vehicles will be, the Tesla Model 3 having very recently exceeded the 50,000 euro mark… The Volkswagen ID.1 should be produced in Spain and launched later this year. 2025. So be patient.
