In an interview, Willem Dafoe is open to returning as the “Spider-Man” villain. “If everything is right,” he would be back.

Numerous “Spider-Man” fans may consider the American actor Willem Dafoe (67) to be the best villain of the three film series to date about the friendly neighborhood spider. After all, the four-time Oscar-nominated mime in the franchise starter “Spider-Man” (2002) with the Green Goblin played the antagonist of the title character embodied by Tobey Maguire (47) in an unforgettable way – and was also in the multiverse mega-success “Spider-Man : No Way Home” from 2021 will be part of the party again.

And acting legend Dafoe can also imagine a return to his iconic role in the future, “if everything is right”. The 67-year-old now explained “Inverse”.

Willem Dafoe raves about his comic book villain

“It’s a great role,” continued the star of such films as ‘The Lighthouse’ (2019) and ‘Platoon’ (1986). What he particularly liked about his internally torn comic villain was that “both times it was a double role”. Dafoe described the production of Sam Raimi’s (63) “Spider-Man” and the more recent “No Way Home” by director Jon Watts (41) as “very different experiences”, although he “both enjoyed them”.

In “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Dafoe appeared alongside other iconic villain actors who drew audiences from the first “Spider-Man” trilogy from 2002 to 2007, as well as the two superhero blockbusters “The Amazing Spider -Man” (2012) and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro” (2014) with leading actor Andrew Garfield (39). For his appearance, Dafoe had been digitally rejuvenated to achieve the familiar look of the early millennium.

So it is with “Spider-Man 4”

According to Marvel boss Kevin Feige (49), another “Spider-Man” part is currently in the works. “All I’m gonna say is we got the story” the head of Marvel Studios told the US magazine “Entertainment Weekly” in February this year. Details about the plot or actors are not yet known.
