On May 5th, the late entertainer Willi Herren finds his final resting place in a Cologne cemetery. This is how the memorial service works.

The funeral of Willi Herren (1975-2021) is approaching. On a condolence page from the provider Mymoria Fans have been saying goodbye to the pop singer and actor who died on April 20 for several days – almost 500 fans have already expressed their condolences there. The funeral home has now announced new details about the funeral service, which will take place on Wednesday (May 5th) at 11 a.m. in Cologne via the provider.

As previously announced, only 30 close friends and family members of the entertainer are to take part in the funeral service at the Melaten cemetery due to the corona pandemic. The funeral is all about Herren’s hometown Cologne: In addition to red and white flowers, balloons in the city colors should also be part of the subtle decoration. The black coffin in which Willi Herren is carried to his final resting place is adorned on the side with the silhouette of Cologne with the cathedral in gold, according to the funeral home’s announcement.

Relatives say goodbye to Willi Herren with a tea light ritual

At the beginning of the funeral there should be a tealight ritual in which each guest goes to the coffin individually and leaves a burning tealight. According to Mymoria managing director Björn Wolff, the ritual should give the 30 relatives and friends the opportunity and time to personally say goodbye to Willi Herren.
