William & Kate: Royals send message to Australian helpers

On today's "Thank a First Responder Day", Australians would like to thank the police, paramedics, firefighters and other helpers who risk their lives for the common good. Prince William (37) and Duchess Kate (38) also celebrated the often selfless effort with a short video message. A beautiful gesture by the royals.

Among other things, William first reminded that the devastating bush fires in Australia were only a few months ago. The whole world followed the efforts of firefighters and women back then "and we were deeply touched by what we saw." Unfortunately, the helpers now have to fight on the front line of another emergency, Kate adds. The helpers worked "tirelessly" to guarantee the security of the population during the Corona crisis – and they often "not only put their health at risk, but also their mental well-being."

On this first "Thank a First Responder Day", all helpers "deserve a huge thank you", Kate continues in the video message before William concludes: "You should be extremely proud of everything you do and we send our best wishes to All of you and your families. "
