“Sex and the City” star Willie Garson died on Tuesday after a brief illness. The actor was only 57 years old.
“Sex and the City” star Willie Garson died on Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness at the age of 57. As the “People” magazine reports on, the US actor suffered from pancreatic cancer and was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
Willie Garson played Stanford Blatch, Sarah Jessica Parker’s (56) best friend, the role of Carrie Bradshaw, in the HBO series “Sex and the City” (1998-2004) and its spin-offs in 2008 and 2010.
Willie Garson leaves behind a son. Cynthia Nixon (55), who plays the role of Miranda Hobbs, explained on Twitter: “We all loved him and enjoyed working with him. He was so funny on screen and in real life.”
In addition to “SATC”, Willie Garson also appeared in the films “Real Love” (1993), “Crazy About Mary” (1998) and “Freaky Friday” (2003).
