The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz defeats the Chilean Nicolas Jarry in 4 sets and is in the 4th round.

The top 10 players

  • Carlos Alcaraz (ESP/ATP 1) sees Nicolas Jarry (CHL/ATP 28) 6: 3, 6: 7 (6: 8), 6: 3, 7: 5
  • Daniil Medvedev (RUS/ATP 3) sees Marton Fucsovics (HUN/ATP 67) 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4, 6: 4
  • Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE/ATP 5) sees Laslo Djere (SRB/ATP 60) 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 4

For a long time it had looked like a 5th set on Wimbledon’s Center Court. Nicolas Jarry led against Carlos Alcaráz in the 4th round with 3:0, even had chances for a double break and looked sovereign with his own serve. But Alcaraz was able to turn it up again and win the sentence after a long 70 minutes. In a 4-set win in just under 4 hours, the Spanish world number 1 gave up a set for the first time at this tournament. In the round of 16, either Alexander Zverev (ATP 21) or Matteo Berrettini (ATP 38) is waiting for Alcaraz.

Only survives for the second time in his career Daniel Medvedev in the “All England Club” the 3rd round. The Russian lost the starting set against the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, but then turned it up and won in 4 sets after 3 hours. Medvedev, who acted erratically at the beginning, also benefited from a double fault by Fucsovics in the decisive break in the second round. Both players showed spectacular tennis at times under the closed roof on Court 1.

Also further is Stefanos Tsitsipas. One day after the end of his five-set marathon against the two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, the Greek fifth in the world rankings prevailed much more easily 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 4 against the Serb Laslo Gjere. Now the American Christopher Eubanks is waiting.
